Have you heard of a home remedy for acne called the Lemon acne method?
What is this method and does it really work? Let’s find out.
The lemon acne method is a way to use a homemade solution, in this case lemons, for acne cure.
The reason why lemon gained the status of a homemade acne cure is due to the fact that lemons are acidic in nature. This acidity helps remove the dead skin cells when applied to the skin and gives the skin a fresh glow.
After thoughtful consideration I decided to try the lemon acne remedy for my acne skin.
Steps I took for the lemon acne method:
· First I washed my face and patted it dry.
· Then I squeezed a little lemon juice in a bowl and soaked a cotton ball into it.
· I gently applied it to my chin acne with the intention of leaving it for around 10 minutes.
But did the lemon acne method work for me and was I really able to leave it on for the recommended time?
Well the answer is no. Though lemon did not burn my skin much, it caused a lot of itching on my chin. So much that I could not keep it for the recommended time frame. I had to wash it off. So I really couldn’t know if it would have worked for me.
I have heard people mix the lemon with some honey, maybe I will try that since it may be more soothing.
But the fact is the lemon acne method has sure worked for some acne sufferers. But if you have a sensitive skin it may be a good idea to avoid this method. You can test the lemon acne method by applying a little on just one part of your face and see how it feels. If it does not burn or itch too much, and if you are not allergic to lemons then you can give the lemon acne method a try.
Though I may not try the lemon acne method on my skin due to its sensitive nature, lemon is still not out of my head. Lemon has so many beneficial properties that it cannot be ignored. Drinking a glass of lemon juice daily will really help in flushing out those toxins.
